Hard to not get lost in Chassagne among all the Morey estates that fill the village! Domaine Marc Morey is run by Bernard Mollard and with wife, Marc Morey's daughter. The old cellar lies under a magnificent home, which was a former coaching inn and Marc Morey's family home for 100 years.
Bernard Mollard's wines have been increasingly better and more renown since the mid-nineties. Although Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets and Batard-Montrachet have been the most flattered ones, there are few others jewel in Bernard Mollard's cellar and his Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Charmois is definitely one of them.
He also began a négociant business few years ago that permitted him to add some prestigious appellations to his already great list.

Production: around 50 000 bottles
Harvest: By hand
Fermentation: Begins in temperature-controlled casks, then the half-fermented juice is transferred into oak barrels -- 25 to 35% new.
Maturation: 10 to 12 months in oak barrels
Wine Character: Medium-bodied wines with excellent depth and amplitude. They are often lush, and offer a long and supple finish. The aromas vary with the terroirs-- from the sharpness of minerality and the freshness of flowers to the luxuriance of peach and vanilla, or nuts and honey flavors.
