Our firm exclusively produces wines derived from grapes originating in our own vineyards as well as a quantity of grapes from neighboring vintners directly under supervision. Our first vintage was in 1981 and at present we export 85% of the production to 16 countries, mainly to northern Europe, the United States, and Canada. We are represented by laudatory reviews in major magazines of the world, and by the most important journalists in the field, who rate us the most significant producer of the area. Our Ciabatta is the only Morellino attaining the award of 3 Glasses from the esteemed Gambero Rosso wine guide. Our riservi, Ciabatta and Aquilaia, are produced only in the very best years, in proportions of roughly 20% of our total production. The rest is bottled approximately 12 months after the harvest. From our supply of pressed grapes a small production of Grappa is bottled fresh annually. Vineyard Area: 22.5 hectares Age of Vines: 15 to 25 years Vines per Hectare: 2224 to 2850 Pruning: Single Guyot or high culture Treatments: 5 or 6 annually, according to weather conditions Grape Yield: 7000 to 7500 Kg / hectare Wine Yield: 70% of grapes produced Altitude: 800 to 1400 feet above sea level Soil: Fine-grained, poor, acid Harvest: early October Cellar: located near Scansano (altitude 1700 feet) on a property of 1 hectare. The cellar is the central point fro processing all the vineyards. It has a temperature-controlled area for ageing the wines in barrel, and a fully computerized bottling system with a capacity of 5000 hl of stainless steel tanks and 500 hl of oak barrels
