As an anonymous scribe put it during the late Middle Ages, “per pulchreastransii vineas Bertegoli…” or “I was walking about in the beautiful vineyards of Bertiolo…” a calcareous tract of Dolomitic terrain strewn with pebbles, stone and sand. It was land which, over the course of many centuries, had been noted for its particular formation: particularly well-suited for vineyards.

After the establishment of the winery, the owners began to sell their wines to the best known Friulian wine firms while also bottling some themsleves, so as to increase their share of the national and international market.
The Cabert range has been very successful pursued a philosophy which can be summed up. From the grape to the glass, care is taken with every detail of production to ensure the very best quality. Cabert have 290 ha of vines, yielding about 15,000 hl of wine per year. Of this only 3,500 hl are bottled under the Cabert label. This wines comprise: Verduzzo friulano, Tocai friulano, Sauvignon, Traminer aromation, Riesling Renano, Pinot grigio, Pinot bianco, Chardonnay, Picolit, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, refosco dal peduncolo rosso, Rosato, Violino.
Finally, to complete its range of products, Cabert will distill part of its grape skins to produce grappa from a single varietal grape.
