Merlot, a grape prone to rot, grows well here, in a climate moderated by Lake Garda on the west and the Adriatic Sea to the east, which allows the grapes to reach full maturity by virtue of a warm breeze that helps to promotes ripeness and keeps growing conditions dry and temperate, thus inhibiting the tendency of the tight bunches of Merlot to produce mold if moisture is present in the grape clusters.   Soft and easy drinkability characterize this delicious, light, medium-dry wine. A mild, herbal bouquet; gentle, plummy fruit; and low tannins lend the wine to many applications - as a simple, pleasant sipping wine, with such food as light meat and poultry creations, vegetarian dishes and even certain seafood preparations. Type: Tocai Italico Appellation: DOC Colli Euganei Color: White Grape Varieties: 100% Tocai Italico Tocai is widely grown in northeast Italy, notably in Fruili, but this version represents truly wonderful value for your white wine dollar! Its delicate aroma is attractively floral, and yet there's surprising interest in the mouth. There's also a well-balanced acidity, as in most of the better Italian whites. A delicious aperitivo and accompaniment to lighter foods.  Priced to entice!
