Back in 1970 Riccardo Bruna took the then unusual step of starting a new domain. Inspired by the extraordinary quality of his family vineyards’ fruit he started to estate bottle. Aided and guided by his father-in-law Virginio Capello, he expanded the vineyard area, always seeking the best terroir for their beloved Pigato. It was typicity above all that he sought in his wines, and his daughter Francesca and her husband Roberto and sister Annamaria have followed his lead as they gradually took his place in the vines and the cellar. The wines are natural and elegant, never pushed. Methods are simple and traditional: some skin contact, fermentation with native yeasts, ageing on the fine lees. The wines are consistently hailed as among the very best of the region.
