CHÂTEAU CISSAC
Haut Medoc, France
Positioned on the grounds of an 18th-century charter house, the lush and somewhat wild gardens and vineyards at Château Cissac are no Grand Château. Rather, proprietor Marie Vialard's pride and joy resembles a cottage out of a fairtytale. But make no mistake, Cissac has been designated Cru Bourgeois since 1932 and even elevated to Supérieur in 2018. The wine justifies that decision: serious old school Bordeaux, rife with notes of cassis, earth, and cedar.
