LAVRADORES DE FEITORIA
Douro, Portugal
Founded in 2000 outside Sabrosa in Douro's north central valley Lavradores de Feitoria is a cooperative of 20 estates scattered throughout the region's three major sub-zones. Led by winemaker and oenologist Paulo Ruão, they have carved out a place for themselves as a leader in quality, sustainability, and value. They boast a dedicated viticulture team that meticulously supports and manages its farmers' vineyards to ensure the utmost quality of grapes.
Over the years, the operation has moved toward environmental sustainability: investment in solar panels to mitigate energy expenses, water rejuvenation, and utilization of water recycling methods to significantly reduce water consumption.
The LAVRA wines are blended from grapes sourced from estates in all three Douro sub-zones (Douro Superior, Cima Corgo, and Baixo). Wines in this line are hand-harvested and both fermented and aged in stainless steel.
