It’s quite a story. Alain Rochard and Laurent Farre, two friends from Saumur in the Loire, start a restaurant in Quebec. In 2002, after great success in Quebec, they buy a domaine in the south of France: 18 spectacular hectares near Bize in the Causses of Minervois. They call on Laurent’s sister and her partner Nicolas Gaignon to come down from the Loire to actually run things. Twenty years later, they’re still there. The wine is better than ever, with an emphasis on freshness and elegance.
