SELVAPIANA
Chianti Rufina, Italy
Selvapiana is a world-class estate, perched in the high hills of the Rufina. It’s elegant refined wines count among the very best in Italy. Once the summer home of the bishops of Florence, it was bought in 1827 by Michele Giuntini Selvapiana, a wealthy Florentine banker. Five generations later it is run today by Silvia and Federico Giuntini Masseti. They still work with Francesco Bernabei, who has been the consulting oenologist since 1978. It now comprises 600 acres, with some 100 devoted to wine and 75 to olives.
