CHATEAU DE SELVE
Coteaux de l’Ardeche, France
Although the chateau dates back to the 13th century, in many ways this is a new venture. Benoit Chazallon’s family bought the property in 1990. When Benoit graduated from the Beaune oenology school in 2002, he set about converting the 40 hectare vineyard to biodynamic agriculture. Today he makes a range of expressive, mineral wines that have brought new acclaim to this neglected pocket of the Rhone valley.
