It was back in 2001 that the whole thing started: two wine-makers meet in the foothills of the Pyrenees, on the famous Cathar castle route: Jean-Luc Thunevin of Chateau Valandraud in St Emilion, and Jean-Roger Calvet, a native of Maury. Jean-Luc bought a small parcel to supplement Jean-Roger’s vines. The first vintage was made in a garage in an alleyway in Maury. Today the estate has grown to 65 hectares, and the garage has been replaced by an eco-friendly winery on the outskirts of town.
